It's not only affiliate links. I was using them to link to my sites, there were no affiliate links on wordpress.com blogs.
those Web2.0 sites are harder to work with, blog.com and hubpages.com are tough too.

Don't you have your own website ? If so, then install a Word Press blog and forget wordpress.com. Then, go and write a bot to install Word Press on sites. Those people who need help installing Word Press on their sites can buy your bot. Few weeks back, I built a script to delete comment spamming on Word Press blogs. It now needs updating.
Does your wordpress.com account show of any comment spam deleting plugins ? I couldn't find any. Therefore, had to build my own script. Mmm. Might aswell sell copies one day.
And read my Profile, whatever is available of it.
