thank you for the new shortcuts

Recommended Posts

Thanks sooooo much from me too...

...but it's shown up an issue somewhere with how the shortcuts work compared to clicking. For example to compile previously, I would click on File, wait about two seconds for the drop down box to appear, then I'd hover over Compile and wait another two to three seconds until the light blue highlight appeared before clicking. Then another two seconds wait before the dialogue box appeared. Now, if I CTRL+SHIFT+C, I'm there straight away!

Same applies to other functions, ie right click on a node and have to wait three seconds before the options display, but hit DEL and it's gone in an instant. Can we use shortcuts eg for selecting edit a node please? maybe left click to select it, then CTRL+E ?

Going to learn as many short cuts as I can now, as it will certainly speed up development.

AutoIM is referring to the need for a keyboard shortcut to edit a node.  Yes, CTRL-E is already used, and that's fine, but we need some other CTRL-xxxx keyboard sequence (or ALT-xxxx or ???) so that one can edit a node without having to use the mouse, right-click on the node and edit.   If the node is 'selected' then they CTRL-xxxxx should allow the node to be edited.

Team - we don't need ALT-xxxx or CTRL-xxxx when you've got a node selected... how about a straight keypress.

Note - you can use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to move node to node... but how about enabling developers with the following keyboard shortcuts while in NODE VIEW:

For example, we should request the following...

Pressing E puts the node into EDIT mode.

(we have the benefit of pressing ENTER to complete our edits already)

Pressing R to run the selected node.

Pressing C to copy the selected node node (hover a fading tool tip suggesting the node has been copied to the clipboard)

Pressing P to to paste the copied node below the current selected node.

Pressing D to delete a node by way of confirmation which defaults to "NO" unless the RIGHT arrow key is pressed and YES is selected and ENTER is pressed.

These are drop dead essential for improved, rapid development.
