A quick note from Seth

I hope you enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving if you were in the US. I had the traditional turkey, of course, with a few twists, while trying to keep from being devoured by a chihuahua named Leo...
Anyway, I wanted to get in touch with everyone on the forum and tell you how much I appreciate the hard work you do helping everyone out, and keeping this community thriving.
Those of you who have helped UBot Studio grow have my sincerest thanks!
I also wanted to address a few issues that we've seen lately. First, I wanted to mention our standards for the forum to help curb some problems we've had.
To anyone who has posted a specific issue that was not addressed in a timely fashion, I want to apologize - there was a medical emergency on staff that caused some confusion for a few weeks. Everyone is fine now, but if some questions did not get answered, I apologize for that. We're working to rectify the issue and make sure that all issues, past and future, get responded to and resolved. Please know that I take all your posts seriously, and the staff does as well, and if we did not get to respond, we do see all the posts and make notes of how to best resolve the issues you bring up!
Secondly, there have been some forum moderators (who are not on staff) that deleted some threads that should not have been deleted. The situation has been corrected and it's clear now that some threads were removed that I believe should have stayed. That was a mistake, and it shouldn't happen again.
However, we take malicious behavior seriously. Like any forum filled with people discussing how to make money, sometimes emotion can get the better of people. In some rare situations, we will remove threads from view that are attacking other members or our staff. If a thread is clearly not benefiting the UBot community, and is causing problems, it may be removed.
If you have a specific issue with the software, please report it to support.ubotstudio.com. And if you have a specific issue with a user or staff, please address it privately - or message a moderator or myself and let us know.
I know that some of you experienced issues during the initial release of UBot Studio 4.0, and posted those issues here. We have been working very hard to solve them. As you post issues in our forum, even when we are not able to respond, Ed, Lilly, John, Jason, and myself are working to correct them.
If you try UBot Studio 4.0 now, I believe you'll find that the hard work has paid off. I'm very pleased with the software. I hope you'll try it out if you haven't in the past few weeks. It is really an impressive piece of software.
Thanks so much for your continued support, and for keeping us aware of your needs.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Seth

Happy Thanksgiving to you even if I'm not from the US..Yes I agree that ubot4 is pretty solid right now.
There are still some issues that need to be address specially the lagging when your bot have a very long lines of codes but I believe in time this will be all fix. Thanks to you and your staff for creating this fantastic software!

There could be a variety of reasons for that (mostly related to available resources), but if you click the command and hold for 1-2 seconds and then drag it will work.

I have an i7 machine and 16 gigs of RAM and it's happening a lot, mostly on shorter commands like if and set. It's even happening to you on your videos

I have a similar machine, and I got it a lot. For me it was related to Roboform trying to attach to each form in the application, see my sticky if you run Roboform.
I still have a few unresolved issues that are big problems for me. For example multi-threading still doesn't work very well at all and causes a lot of locked browsers (and ultimately missing data) when going over 5 threads. Using proxies causes browser lockups to be amplified exponentially. Few other issues causing me grief but every time I decide to give Ubot another go, I run into more issues.

I don't use roboform however I do have a reasonably quick machine with 8GB ram. I've also noticed that after working with my code for a while, everything seems to slow down (not just the selections mentioned above, but literally any action within ubot studio) and I resort to shutting down ubot then restarting it which seems to help get it back to a normal responsive state.
The longer I work in Ubot Studio, I notice the same thing but it is much better than it was before as I disabled Windows Application Attachment in Roboform.

This has unfortunately been the problem since a long long. Hopefully this would be resolved soon.

I make the bot to appear simultaneously.. but while running the bot, the whole 5 sub categories got to be run.. I need ideas or way to make it to run for the only particular categories... please provide some ideas..
Please post these types of questions in the appropriate sub forum...in this case you should place it in Scripting. Thank you.

ubot is become a close community. it should be opened up more. too many restriction to join this forum.
It used to be that way, and it although it had a great sub-community, it had a lot of associated problems due to being so accessible to anyone. It's a niche community in reality, and maintaining the integrity of the "member" community is important to us. The restrictions are likely the reason it is becoming such a close community again.

I have never felt any that there is any restrictions. Its Ubot's support forum and Ubot users are most welcome here. I am sure the admins would think the same.

Couldn't agree more with you guys.
I am a fairly new user to UBot and had no problems joining. Like John said, it really is a niche community. So if you are a UBot customer, you have no problems joining the community.
I have had nothing but a good experience so far with this forum.

I too find performance issues that are only really solved by a shut down and restart. I use an i7 laptop with ssd and 8gb of ram and it gets sluggish all round after a while. Especially when I have deep nesting involved.
I also run it on my little desktop with 24gb ram, 12 I7 proceesors overclocked to 4.3ghz and 8 raid 10 SSDs. and get exactly the same so I don't think it is just down to hardware.
I have turned off the roboform application stuff completely but still get the slowdown to almost a halt after an hour or so of coding. It is completely refreshed and responsive after a save and restart.
That said I actually really like the software or I wouldn't put up with all that. The biggest hurdle for me is not really performance coz it takes but a few seconds to shutdown and restart. The real thing for me is getting up to speed with best / clever practice for development. I have over thirty years of s/w development experience so the bits about building lists, tables, scraping etc seem quite straightforward and what would be fantastic would be a worked example of a reasonable quality bot with UI, back end and web interactions that really show the power of this s/w. It feels like I am having to pull teeth for every little extra glimpse of the power that is there but hidden under a bushel.
I would love to be wrong and to be pointed in the direction of places I have yet to discover and like I said at the start i would not be persevering if I did not feel that there is a fantastic resource and opportunity here.

Hey win. Thanks for the input. It is always welcome here. Eddie is working hard to close some of the performance issues and I am certain they will eventually be found and fixed. Unfortunately I am always pressed for time since I spend the majority of it helping members with their projects/issues, etc, therefore I don't have any comprehensive bots coded. It is a good idea though and I will see what seth thinks about putting one together. It may or may not be helpful, but when i have time I put up tutorials based on member questions at:

I am always around, so feel free to contact me if you need anything.

I think we maybe have already talked if you are the man that interviews potential Dev Edition buyers. And this forum is of immense help too and I have learnt a lot already from browsing through it.
One area that would be of immense help would be an example of an interface built with ubot 4. Not neccesaarily with all the functions behind it that make it work as an app which might be more confidential but just sense of what can be done with the interface.
Where is the best place to make feature requests? There are a few things that I would like that I don't think are in at the moment. I would like to have:-
- command line arguments to be passed in as variables
- an auotrun command in the UI area just like there is a splash page command having to use /auto is a pain
- the ability to turn of areas of the interface like menus, browser, browser URL and even to have the entire bot just run in the background with no visible window at all.
