Today I can't get it to run and I have tried it on two separate machines and it fails with a browser.exe crash at the same point each time. I've tried recompiling and also going back to an earlier version but the same problem. I'm trying to think what has changed and I am now wondering if it could be related to the UBot 5 update 5.0.13 that I applied. Ubot 5 still has outstanding bugs making it unusable for me but does anyone know if UBot 4 and 5 share resources, and could the browser.exe crashing problem I am having with Ubot 4 have crept in due to the UBOT 5 update? Yes it could, after updating to 5.0.11 I got a strange error in my Ubot4 bots. So I completely uninstalled Ubot5 (and Ubot4 too just in case), and it solved the problem for me. Now I only have Ubot4 installed, and have no plans on installing Ubot5 for a while... Quote Link to post Share on other sites

UBot 5 does not share resources or a browser with UBot 4. They are simply unable to. Perhaps check to see if there have been any changes made on your system before the issue started occurring that might be interfering with UBot 4 or its browser. If you believe the update to UBot 5 is related to the crashing,. please open a ticket at support.ubtostudio.com and we'll walk through a few steps with you to see what is going on. Just for good measure Marton I did uninstall UBot4 and 5 and afterwards re-installed just UBot 4 and the problem was the same before I then re-installed UBot 5. Dan, I have tried clearing out the %appdata%\Roaming\UBot Studio directory, but that made no difference. What is odd is that this Ubot has been running for months on two separate Windows XP machines. They both experience the same problem at the same time which in my book would seem to eliminate the target machines. To rule out any code changes I have tried going back to a much earlier version but I get the same Browser.exe crash. Being Windows XP there can't have been any windows updates. The Ubots are developed on the same Windows 7 machine. It doesn't experience a browser.exe crash on that machine. The dilemma I am having is that this is a UBot4 application and I can't use UBot5 because there are specific unfixed bugs that need to be resolved for it to work under UBot 5. On the basis that there is no longer any support for UBot4 and I can't use UBot5 how does one go about resolving a UBot4 browser.exe crash? This is a big deal with months of development in jeopardy. I had a bot working perfectly fine built in Ubot4 running on my separate computer that was just reformatted with Windows XP. The bot was running for weeks with no issue. Now all of a sudden today I am noticing that every time i open the bot and simply start filling out a field in the Ui i get a browser crash. It even happens if I just open then bot, I don't have to do anything and I get the crash. What is going on here? P.S. One of my clients is now having the issue as well.. Martin C 6 Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Share Posted July 2, 2014 Well after a lot of reading and messing around I have made some progress that I will document here in case it helps others. I had included anyway the automatic close Ubot browser.exe crashes that can be found on this forum that has been provided by buohcom. I had found that useful for previous browser.exe crashes when the browser was part of a thread, the problem I was having was the main procedure's browser was being affected so the procedure was freezing so in that case closing the window wasn't helping. I eventually found that by disallowing javascript in the areas of the procedure where it was not required allowed me to get over the main browser.exe crash, I was getting others but they were not causing the procedure to freeze. I tried various other suggestions using "about:blank" when resetting the browser screen and I also experimented with disallowing css (neither had any effect in my case). I had read that compiling the UBot on a windows 7 64bit and then deploying the compiled UBot on XP can cause browser.exe crashes that can be resolved by compiling on the deployment platform. (I haven't tried this myself but it was something I would have tried had disabling javascript not been effective). What it strange is that I now have the UBot back working on two XP machines, one is displaying an occasional browser.exe crash the other more frequent browser.exe crashes but they are all recoverable this time. I didnt change anything, just a very simple ubot that goes to youtube and watch 50 videos crash. He crash all the time and there is no help, i dont use thread or anything... this sux!!! Search for Advanced Ubot, it has a similar script like the winautomation one mentioned above, or try Advanced Systems which disables (most) browser.exe crashes all together (no need to set a timer to check for the errors). Was talking to JulesUK in the Skype group and he has it all over XP, I have had it start happening on Windows 7 to a bot that has worked flawlessly since last November. We have tried installing the .Net framework again but no go. Next step is to start cutting out plugins - after that it will be to compile it in V5 to test but as the plugin API has been bodged between 4 & 5 some plugins just won't work in 5. At the moment I am looking like a complete mug to people asking me why all of a sudden has this started happening. I thought it may of been something to do with Patch Tuesday but I can't imagine an OS upgrade (across Server2003 / Windows XP and Windows 7) knackering up a bot, especially as XP doesn't get updates anymore. So at the moment we are looking at either Ubot 4 or a plugin that has gone a bit funny - none of us know exactly what Ubot does under the hood as everything is on the remote server, version 4 is unsupported and version 5 is a complete trainwreck. Perhaps its as simple as an update to Awesomium but as V4 won't get that update again I am stuck. There have been absolutely no changes made to UBot 4 for Windows XP or any other system. The issue with Windows XP is already being investigated and it might be related to the DEP feature on Windows XP. Please open a ticket at support.ubotstudio.com if you are experiencing the crashing issue on Windows XP when starting up a bot or opening up UBot Studio. Like I said in my post, we don't know what happens when we compile or anything as you persist in forcing us to compile etc on your side of the fence so we don't know if / what changes are made. I locate and purchased the Advanced Systems Addin and included added the disable windows error reporting to the procedure by I am still getting browser.exe windows, does the statement have to be included in each thread?
