mrwalt 34
I have a question for everyone as I searched the forum but no one has pinned this down yet. For some reason when I operate my bots in Windows 7, XP, and Vista there are no problems. However, when I run these same bots on a Windows 8 computer the bot performs in a very unusual manner. This is just not one bot but everyone that I tested. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you find as the best solution to the problem? mrwalt
mrwalt 34
Just in case someone asks I also checked Google via site:http://www.ubotstudio.com/forum + the keyword as well before asking this question and tried them all but no one has pinned down the solution yet. Edward_2 85
Have you tried this? https://www.google.com/search?q=compatibility+mode+on+win8

Ptrick125 45
I'm on windows 8, but I've never had any issues, I wonder why it has problems for you...
mrwalt 34
Thank you all for your comments as I have tried all of these items and I would say it just depends on the person computer as it works on some peoples computer's and not other's. I have literally tried everything as my fiance has a Windows 8 laptop and nothing from Ubot worked on her computer. I had another customer where he tried Ubot on his Windows 8, XP, and Vista and nothing worked so I guess I have to chalk it up to something on these individual computers! So I'm not sure what to say about this situation as I just actually started selling my bots as I literally have hundreds of them that I will start rolling out slowly but this problem where bots aren't working on certain computers is something that I need to figure out fast! mrwalt
kev123 132
Is it anti virus related how are your customers reporting the issue? are the bots opening?
mrwalt 34
Yes, the bots are opening and running but the problems start within about 2 to 10 minutes of them running. Such as they just stop altogether or the nodes start to skip over each other. I have never experienced this on any of my computers as I have Windows 7 but on Windows 8 this has been a common problem. mrwalt
UBotDev 276
Yesterday I also noticed problems with running UBot v4 on Windows 8. The problem was that UI fields were frozen and the main browser didn't seem to to response when I tried to navigate to a URL manually; it looked like browser failed to load properly or crashed during the load. Anyone had similar issues?
luis carlos 94
I have exactly the same issue. Did you fix it? ThanksYesterday I also noticed problems with running UBot v4 on Windows 8. UBotDev 276
Nope, never had a solution for this frustrating problem, and it's been there forever. Similar happens in UBot Studio, when I'm developing; after some time I'm not able to type into any of the browser inputs...

Today a turn off the smartscreen, and the bot using ubot 4.2 did not work, but the other one using ubot 5 works perfect! Have you had something similar? Is it necessary to restart the pc after turning off the smartscreen filter?

Yes and you would also need to uninstall any bots that where installed while the smart screen filter was on and then install them again while it's off.
gavind 6
You can also try to disable User Account Control on Windows 8. Just a hunch here that I have.
itexspert 47
UAC is the guilty party here i had many issues with this setting in Windows 8 this system also Blocks Ubot compiled bots you have to Unblock them until recently also AVAST made false positive accusations that Bots are in fact viruses, and now AVAST runs Deep Scan and allows the app to run normally! I dont like Windows 8 but this could be an issue with my customers i also noticed some of them were struggling to make it work i eventually helped them but still its a pickle when you have to teamview every day with your customers to make it work!
